For the kid on the street,
I have everything that he needs,
Loving parents, a little home,
friends, pets, maybe my Papa's phone.
I huge garden that beckons me,
Dogs playing, a rabbit scurrying,
I would like to tell everybody this is mine,
The orchard, the lawns, clear air, azure skies.
But my father tells me this belongs to them,
The folks I see not very often,
They sit and enjoy and have a good time,
And I do too. Their happiness is also mine.
My parents tell me I have to be like them,
The school that I go to will make it happen,
I have to work hard, very hard and not make the same mistakes,
Thay my parents made and not them in the cool shades.
So I see all the abundance around me,
But I ignore all of it, or at least I try,
I have to be like them, experience that happiness,
Which seems eternal, blissful and full of kindness.
