Perseverance, Hardwork, Honesty and Ambition,
Formed a potent yet humble coalition,
Some 50 years ago when they coalesced into a Star,
And decended upon a small city called Allahabad.
The seat of learning, literature and law,
Was destined to witness something in awe,
The rise of a shining star rolled in humility
The exuberance of intelligence dipped in divinity.
With time the star created worlds around itself,
Large and small, green and blue,
Of different terrains, shapes and hues,
Revolving around it in awe, in fear, and some without a clue.
Rich and poor thronged to his abode so green
Surrounded by grass and long banana leaves,
The seasons came and left on time,
Along with the Sun, the Moon and everything sublime.
The majestic building on an appropriately named road,
Saw the rise of the king who did goad,
The bar the bench and everything in between,
To become better, cleaner and more pristine.
To this day thousands are constantly in awe of his genius,
And stand up for him as he pulls in his little Fiat,
The poor from villages, the rich from far and near,
Who are dwarfed by this little star and his unpolluted demeanor.
We wish him all the very best for the years ahead,
And hope he will keep doing what he does best,
Protecting the innocent, chastising the dishonest,
As he rolls on towards 75 humble and modest.
And all of this could not have been possible,
Without that little planet which constantly revolves around him,
Sincerely, lovingly, with all her heart and love,
Bravely bearing him in all his ups and downs.
Rumors are that the king was rough and tough,
Had all the intelligence in this world,
But all fell short in an unfriendly world full of harm
Till he found the little green planet's luck, which worked like a charm.
All the forces then united, from the East and the West,
As the King's fame spread relentlessly in every direction,
The lady luck was with him and he cared least,
About all the negatives and the thousands of enemies.
The tango was on and the world witnessed it,
The king ruled the bar and the queen his heart,
Days turned into years and years into decades,
To this day the love shines and just would not fade.
