The Fall Festival

The town, which is happy the way it is,

Modest folks with limited means,

Traversing the day from morning to night,

With a chill in the wind and cozy climes

Everybody knows everybody, 

And gather this time of the year,

To fleetingly meet and greet,

In anticipation of greater things

The past is behind, 

Along with its qualms,

The very ones I come to the fair with,

The very ones the pictures won’t capture.

Pictures, the cage for bliss,

Will be many from this fair as well,

Like so many in the past, they will tell,

A story with no qualms in those easy smiles
