The Happy Station
===============
The station is right there, where I left it,
Waiting for thee, to entertain, like it played with me,
The train, after the arduous journey,
Through the tunnels and over the bridges,
Through the green fields with cattle grazing,
Through towns, cities and vast fields and mazes,
Is finally arriving at the station, tired, after the picturesque lap,
Tired, yet happy, having made it with the cars intact,
Having reached the destination, with steam left for that last stretch,
The player, excited, is the energy that it must fetch.
But don't stop, dear son, there is world beyond,
Disembark, smell the air, the world awaits you with its song,
The happy station is a door, walk through it,
The deserted look, the whiff, benches to sit,
The tea stall, with biscuits and cheap toffees,
The books on wheels, to be read with coffee,
Are all to be touched, smelt, seen and experienced,
As you walk out into a town, a small one albeit,
With old Neem trees and rickshaw wallahs together & asunder
An odd odor hanging in the air, for you to wonder.
The town has scanty streets, main square, that's my recollection,
where happiness converges from all the directions,
The air is warm, smiles everywhere in the mart,
People are poor, but rich of heart.
You could start talking with anyone, or yourself,
And you would be heard, felt, caressed and hugged.
The days pass by in this town like a gentle breeze,
Sad are those who never find this, or have to leave,
So alight, allow yourself a walk through the station,
Leave the controls! the master beckons you in elation!
