We just scaled the mission peak,
With 3 little puppies,
Who slipped, chatted, laughed and cried,
While we, with all four limbs,
And a heart that worked hard,
Tried to also stop and smell the air.
The mind was relaxed,
The body tense and tired,
Through the winding trail,
Stunning vistas with azure skies,
Green grass, with a mix of gold,
Happy cows battling the flies.
With hands interlocked,
Beads of sweat rolling down,
We made it to the top
And saw the world from up there,
Tiny abodes till the eyes could see,
Cool breeze and a Sun playing hide and seek.
Thousands scale the peak every week
Yet it seemed like a big achievement,
Thousands of bodies scale it,
But not many with minds alike,
Happy in many ways, smelling the beauty along the way,
And my mind unconsciously uttering: “Hey look Ma I made it”
This was a small peak,
And probably the reaction is exaggerated,
But let me stop and smell it,
Let me embrace my little puppies and their mother,
As we get ready to scale the next one,
And when the mind will shout "Hey Look Amma we made it!"
